The Village Pond

Due to the diversion of spring water a few years ago together with a leak in the pond, the water level has been falling. This was temporarily solved by a good natured villager running a hose pipe to the pond from their kitchen tap! Severn-Trent, however, were not amused.

The Parish Council have contacted both Severn-Trent and Leicestershire County Council Highways Department in order to determine who diverted the spring originally. We have also involved conservation organisations and it is hoped that some funding will be available to return the pond back to good order. The fish are currently being housed in a "temporary" home and will be returned as soon as the pond is fully restored.
